Approach

Thank you for your interest in my practice!

As a psychotherapist, my hope is to help you move toward a meaningful, vital, and fulfilling life. I don’t aim, as a therapist, to make you more like me (or anyone else), but instead I hope to learn about who you are, and to partner with you to help you gently and deeply heal and grow.

My clinical approach is eclectic (meaning I can look at clients through several different therapeutic/theoretical lenses), relational (a belief that the relationship between therapist and client is important and a source of transformation and growth), transparent (if you have questions or curiosities just ask, therapy doesn’t have to be mysterious or tricky) and emotionally-focused (meaning I am curious about your feelings not just thoughts or beliefs). I often say to my clients that I aim to do “full-consent psychotherapy” , and believe my clients are partners in the therapy, not passive recipients of my service.

I have been informed by the wisdom traditions of psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness, attachment theory, interpersonal process therapy, Dynamic Enriched Experiential Psychotherapy (DEEP), and NeuroAffective Relational Model™ (NARM®) of therapy.

Because no two people are alike, my work with every client is different. I consider it the pleasure of a lifetime to tailor my approach to the particulars of each of my clients, and to partner with folks for exploration, growth, and healing.
